To see a forthcoming VA release come across my inbox with the lead track by Echoplex was enough on its own. To be released on a label i have an affinity for was an even finer situation.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that polish producer Peter Sliwinski has contributed a slab of pure techno, characterised by signature emotive chords and that stabbing hollow kick that’s present in all of his productions. What should surprise you is this is his first vinyl outing since 2008, with only one other release since then on Index Marcel Fengler in 2014. Echoplex has released some memorable records in the past, and the title track here, ‘Recovered’ is nothing short of that. Albeit a producer who might of stepped away from the scene for a while, but he clearly hasn’t lost his touch in delivering driving Detroit infused techno.

The two other contributions come from B.E.F, and Mechaniker. The former presenting a sheet of bubbling chord progressions and precision percussive hits. The latter being the alter ego or Rene Audiard of Supply Records, who also has a forthcoming release under the same name on Radioslave’s ‘Double R’ imprint. Under his Mechaniker aliase in this instance he dives deep into subterranean territory, exploring heavier edged sounds and teasing metallic melodies throughout the mix.

No release date has been confirmed as yet but expect this EP to drop soon at all good record stores worldwide.
