Decon/Recon by title and definition sets to break the old model and hierarchy of collaborations and remix projects by allowing a group of artists to collaborate synergistically in an open source manner. The new project set forth by Paula Temple, converges artists’ samples and stems in an open archive which is reassembled in four different tracks by the artists themselves. The idea also extends to creditation of each artists work. As explained in the release note, “All artists shall be credited on the cover without authorial connections with the title of their own tracks exposing the listener, reader and dancer in to taking active part in the whole process”, all in an effort to diffuse and nullify former music industry practices.

The approach will also be adapted across various shows, with planned appearances by the four artists performing together on stage at Donau Festival, Krems Austria on 30th April and at Arena in Berlin on the 19th June, accompanied by visual artists Marit Ostberg and Tania Gualeni for both showcase events.
