On the back of Synthek & Audiolouis’ debut album “Unwise”, on their own label Natch Records, comes the first in a series of beautifully crafted remix packages. The first package in the series sees Tadeo taking on “Thread Between Us”, an outstanding interpretation of the original while featuring the spanish producers trademark haunting chords and devilish synth-lines as he raises the impetus with slender hi hats whilst keeping the aggressive mood of the original.
Aubrey unleashes a sophisticated deeper rework of “Broken Pad”, showering fluctuating bleeps and drums embraced by spacey soundscapes strewn with sonic drills and fragments. A combination of contrasts weaved together producing a warm and subtle groove.
On the flip Polar Interia Deliver a slow burning remix of the Albums title track, “Unwise”. A slow cavernous kick begins proceedings with an undulating synth line sharing its space with haunting atmospherics and droning flashes. As the things progress, the track develops the type of hypnotism and swagger that can simply be described as superlative.
Unwise Remix Series #1 delivers on all accounts. A masterpiece gathering a carefully curated cross section of styles and influences. Keep your eyes out at the start of February when this drops.
