You know, the point of illegal parties, be it in warehouses, in the streets, or otherwise, is to make people feel out of their comfort zone and push them into feeling something different. It stirs something inside you that makes you dream about the things that turn on those caustic lights inside you. And after all these years, creating new things and exploring various ways of expressing yourself irrespective of whether it’s playing records, spraying graffiti on the side of trains, or staying up all night taking time lapse photos of the stars, it really does burn into you when you take a moment to reflect on that deeper attachment of wanting to make other people happy.
With that, it’d be irresponsible to continue doing street parties in Brisbane based on the ethos of why we started doing them in the first place. It’s so important to reinvent yourself and it’d go against the purpose of these parties in the first place if we were to continue doing them. It’d also be irresponsible in the context of that thought if we didn’t start work on a couple of new projects too which are far bigger than we ever thought were possible.
The next secret party we’re hosting is in Byron Bay alongside the Subtrakt & White Rhino crews, followed by one last Kana street party in inner-city Brisbane afterwards. We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the new year, really. Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of chapter 1. It means a lot. That time in our lives wouldn’t have been possible without everyone else that shared it with us.
We’ll see you across the next two parties before we release the next news that’ll be far more immense than anything we’ve ever done before. So much love and respect,
Elliot, Adam, Leo & George.
