As you might of already realised, we’re quite fond of what Archipel release as a label. Not only stylistically but also aesthetically.
Here we have the young talented artist, Claire Kenway, who moved to Montreal to pursue her passion for music and technology. In the pathway, she found inspiration and popped a charming effort named “Under A Midnight Moon.” Teaming up with young saxophone player, Alex, Claire explores textures of techno and some jazz moments as well. In some tracks, there’s some winks at Circus Company flavors or the very stripped down Dan Bell effect. Not feeling too shy, Claire uses her voice in a lush purring melody which is a nice balance with the sax stabs that strike images of either foggy Old Montreal while at other moments, perhaps a gloom in the country side. An album that can grow as a companion for moments of dancing that is intelligently layed down.
