Out Electronic Recordings, Italy-based house & techno label with solid roots in Europe, reaches its seventeenth release welcoming back Buck – also known as Alessandro Stefanio, label manager of Transition LAB – experienced label adept and producer who has been actively contributing to the birth of Out-ER since the first brainstormings almost five years ago.
Compared to his first contribution on Out-ER ‘The JVSB EP’, released back in 2012, Buck’s approach to production hasn’t differentiated: the driving percussion stabs, alongside melodic deep, trippy elements and synth lines, represent the strongest production characteristics of the Italian artist. The EP title ‘Nuove Sessioni’ – meaning ‘New Sessions’ – rises from the fact that Buck’s musical timbre has recently evolved thanks to an expansion of his studio, which has seen the add of new analog machines and effects, allowing the artist to better refine all audible components and express his artistic skills and inspirations at his best.
All original tracks are fulfilled with endearing ambient synth lines, accurately scattered in between dogged, vivid hats, toms and claps. Their functionalism is designed through a musical and structural oscillation of energetic kick-bass twines united with comfortable pad drops and gentle patterns. Davenport’s reinterpretation of ‘Nuove Sessioni’ – the only remix the artist will put out as Inland in 2015 – holds the introspective ambient atmospheres plus the bassline impetuosity of the original version, yet strays from it by featuring acid-not-acid, bleepy textures, proving the active commitment of Ed Davenport for the label releases and events – like the recent ones which took place at OHM or Amsterdam Dance Event.
