Token Records is known for releasing uncompromising techno cuts, consistently releasing killer techno from their staple artists CTRLS, Inigo Kennedy and Ø [Phase]. In this case, we see Parisian artist Antigone debuting with a 7 track EP. Antonin Jeanson aka Antigone has been firmly at the helm of the current renaissance of french techno since debuting in 2011 on Zadig’s then relatively new Construct Re-Form label, and he hasn’t looked back since.
His inaugural release on the label, the ‘Cantor Dust’ EP, is similarly reflective of his inclination to mix the abstract with the functional. Presented are seven cuts ranging from spacial electronica, driving low-end thumpers, mechanical percussive monsters and floating melancholy, all sprinkled with the type of abstract melodies the producer has an affinity for. A well rounded debut which is sure to expose the parisian to a lot more fans with the added strength that ‘Cantor Dust’s structure proves well-designed to last.
